With the promise of great weather and some of the world’s best events and festivals, no wonder so many people make it a ritual to visit Adelaide around March every year. Adelaide is one of the world’s most liveable cities and home to some of the world’s best wine, but what a lot of people don’t realise is we also do world class events and festivals incredibly well.
Although we have some amazing events in January and February, including the cycling spectacular of the Santos Tour Down Under and the World Tennis Challenge, one of the best times to be in Adelaide is March. March in Adelaide is thriving with all kinds of events and festivals featuring everything from music at the Womad Festival, comedy Fringe Festival, theatre and arts at the Festival of the Arts, to V8 supercars at Clipsal 500 and horse racing. Adelaide Cabaret Festival
Held annually over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend in June, the Adelaide Cabaret Festival attracts artists from around the world with Ali McGregor and Eddie Perfect being named the 2016 Artistic Directors. Showcasing an eclectic program of classic and contemporary performs the festival is now entering its 16th year.
Tasting Australia is back in Adelaide for 2016! The festival that celebrates South Australian culture at its finest, showcasing producers from all across South Australia through food and wine. Eight whole days packed full of gourmet produce in one major event spanning across the state and its many regions.
The Guitar Festival will be in Adelaide from 11 August 2016 and will feature some of the world’s most unique and diverse talent. Australia’s largest biennially guitar festival will bring with it some of the most influential musicians of their generation. There will be a range of activities including concerts, master classes, workshops, late night sessions and Meet the Maker series.
Australia’s leading international arts festival, OzAsia Festival returns to Adelaide each year featuring international artists, contemporary dance, theatre, music, film, visual arts, community and food events as well as the stunning Moon Lantern Festival.
There is a wealth of talent bringing their tours to Adelaide in 2016.The Hilltop Hoods will be touring in April, Disney on Ice will hit Adelaide in June, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis hit the stage in August and Andre Rieu set for a return on October.
